...I had an Albert Belle CTG card. Didn't win.

A couple things about this post:

1) A guy in one of my late 90s fantasy baseball leagues once took Dante Bichette with his first round pick. Hilarious.

2) This is my absolute favorite insert/contest set of all time, without a doubt.Joe S.http://www.pricelesspursuit.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7218663.post-57532375326403300172011-02-11T13:05:43.532-05:002011-02-11T13:05:43.532-05:00Wow, this was great! I am dying to know this for some reason.

Also, that you jumped around the house excitedly after Griffey hit one seems like the absolute ideal way for this game to play out. If they printed only Griffey cards -- since he'd be the only one to come through in such "clutch situations," because he was, indeed, the man -- it would have been perfect.mkenny59https://www.blogger.com/profile/05234341530938587397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7218663.post-51775948173427982242011-02-10T15:49:39.569-05:002011-02-10T15:49:39.569-05:00Ahhh now I know why I couldn't find it - it wa...Ahhh now I know why I couldn't find it - it was Ken Griffey Jr. and I was spacing out thinking it was McGriff. here's the post - http://greatsportsnamehalloffame.blogspot.com/search?q=griffey+crash - he's further down towards the bottom.SpastikMoosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13374559066158419166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7218663.post-77436265329958777662011-02-10T15:46:13.204-05:002011-02-10T15:46:13.204-05:00I lived this exact post (except replace Dante with...I lived this exact post (except replace Dante with Fred McGriff) during the summer of 1996. Unlike Dante, McGriff did hit a homer, I did sent the card/check in, and I did get a sweet card back in 6 weeks. I can't find it on my blog right now...but it's awesome, especially since it has less type on it and is thus less blinding.SpastikMoosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13374559066158419166noreply@blogger.com
